Morning Keynote Session from Dr. Jessica LaFollette and Teresa Reddish: “LEAP into Differentiating Instruction”  These keynote speakers examine the research-based practices and strategies that LEAP provides for differentiating instruction within MTSS including higher-level thinking, flexible grouping, and problem- based inquiry. Interactive opportunities will be provided throughout the morning to practice making DI decisions based on data and to critically analyze useful AI tools. Portions of the presentation will actually be differentiated to model the practices.

Breakout Session: Elementary Session from Teresa Reddish: “What Do I Do When I’m Done? Differentiation Strategies to Extend Student Thinking” One of the most common challenges teachers face is supporting students who finish early—without resorting to busywork or constant teacher intervention. This session explores practical, purposeful differentiation to avoid “What do I do when I’m done?” Participants will learn how to design meaningful extension activities that deepen understanding, promote independence, and keep all learners engaged.

Breakout Session: Secondary Session from Dr. Jessica LaFollette: “Spark, Stretch and Soar: Differentiating for Gifted Adolescents in Secondary Classrooms” Gifted adolescents need learning experiences that do more than accelerate content—they must spark curiosity, stretch thinking, and support meaningful growth as part of a comprehensive MTSS plan. This session provides practical differentiation strategies designed specifically for advanced learners in middle and high school classrooms. Through interactive examples, participants will explore tiered anchor activities that sustain challenge and autonomy, curriculum compacting that opens the door to purposeful independent study, and how mentorships and community engagement can become powerful extensions of classroom learning.

Teresa Reddish is an elementary advanced content teacher, gifted and creative education specialist, and Gifted Endorsement Instructor in suburban Atlanta, GA. She serves on the executive board of the Georgia Association for Gifted Children as co-facilitator of the Coalition for Access and Equity in gifted education. She is co-author of the LEAP Guidebook and Modules for Differentiating Instruction for Gifted and High-Potential Students.

Dr. Jessica LaFollette serves on the National Association for Gifted Children’s Board of Directors and is Past President of the Kansas Association for the Gifted. Dr. LaFollette teaches gifted students in Kansas City and graduate students at the University of Missouri. She is co-author of the LEAP Guidebook and Modules for Differentiating Instruction for Gifted and High-Potential Students and the new book, Magic in the Middle: Hands on Challenges that Create Joy for Gifted Middle School Students.
